Please be advised that the bus trip to Albany on Tuesday, February 8 regarding the LIPA tax issue has been cancelled. The decision to cancel the trip was due to the ongoing budget discussions in Albany coupled with a plan to bring a smaller group of community activists and representatives to lobby our state leaders.

Welcome to Stop The LIPA Tax Hike website. The intent of this site is to raise awareness and educate Huntington residents about the devastating affects the Long Island Power Authority’s (LIPA) property tax challenge would have on each and every Huntington taxpayer. The tax certiorari case filed in October by LIPA is a complicated issue and it is imperative that Huntington residents have a clear understanding of its potential ramifications.
 

This website is intended to serve as a tool to learn about the LIPA tax lawsuit and what financial impacts it would have on property tax bills throughout the Township – residential and commercial. The website will be constantly updated to keep residents informed on how the tax lawsuit is progressing and what efforts are being conducted to fight LIPA and challenge the lawsuit.
